“Gochak” detention circles

As soon as the police arrives in front of the gate, they immediately form so called ‘Gochak’ detention circles. A group of young policemen (most of them doing their compulsory military service) stand in a circle with interlocked arms.

On the picture you can see a ‘Gochak’ circle on the left.

The protesters are brought inside these circles during the clean-up, so they can not continue blocking the gate.

Even the catholic sisters get their own ‘Gotchaks’. People inside the Gotchaks are filmed continously by policemen.

There is always a group of people who continue their verbal protest while they are locked up in a ‘Gotchak’

and especially the girls have developped many techniques to crawl through the legs of the policemen
