Lunch and dinner time for the activists in Gangjeong is not a relaxing break.
In order to ensure that the entrance is occupied at all times, food is often brought to the gate from the communal restaurant
This means a stressful lunch, in between or during a police action
Food is donated by villagers and people from all over Jeju. Every day people stop by the gate with snacks and food for the activists.
In the communal restaurant, food is cooked daily for 30 plus people
In between dinners, the ‘tea girls’ make coffee for everyone
During the night, tangerines, rich in vitamin C, are cooked on the fire to keep everyone strong and healthy
