On February first, film critic and one of the longest protestors at the jeju naval base in South Korea, Professor Yang Yoon-Mo was sentenced to one year & six months imprisonment, unsuspended for his peaceful non-violent protest.
He is now on his 29th day of hungerstrike. Prof. Yang said he would enter fast soon to claim the nullification on the government report on the result of simulation (* Jan. 31) and to revoke the Jeju naval base project. He says that he will not go out prison unless he dies.
Yang Yoon-Mo has been and has previously spent several months in prison on two different occasions. He brought much attention to the struggle in 2011 when he fasted for more than 70 days almost dying.
